On November 14 last year I contacted MainConcept Support about a problem with their MPEGPro-HD plug-in, which caused significant audio drift during editing, making it impossible to create a timeline, since audio was of by at least 10 seconds after the first 10 minutes time line.

I hoped for some quick response, but it took TWO weeks for them to reply with a meager: We have since updated the plug-in, try that….

Answered that I already tried that and the problem was still there. It took them another two weeks to respond to my answer.

Finally on December 12-th I got an e-mail, asking real stupid questions that were not relevant to the issue I have with their plug-in. I responded on December 13-th and since then, despite two further e-mails from me, it is as quiet as in outer space.

I have never encountered a company that shows such a lack of support.

The following information on their website:

Our support team attempts to answer your e-mail requests in a reliable, competent and quick fashion. Use the safe and easy way of writing an e-mail to send your technical questions about the MainConcept software directly to our team.

Please use this e-mail address: su*****@*********pt.com. For MainConcept to process your problem as quickly as possible, you should add the product name to the subject, and your request should include the following information.

    IS A COMPLETE LIE.

Sorry for the rant, but anybody considering this plug-in better be warned not to expect any support and do not be disappointed that your investment is just money thrown away. It does not work in HDV projects, despite their claims.

    Hi Harm,

Since the product is not working as described and since the company has obviously not shown any interest in answering your questions, I would recommend a credit-card charge back. I know it’s not the solution you are looking for, but this is essentially what it comes down to when a company is non-responsive.
