Lacie Big Disk Extreme
Did anyone ever get a solution to these drives suddenly shutting down? It’s happening all the time now and driving me insane – la cie told me to check firmware which is all up to date and the drives still go down in mid edit taking all my media off line – very frustrating.

I had this problem with some of Lacie’s D2 series drives. They’d just go off line with no reason. I was using a Magilla (sp?) FW400/800 PCI card. I tried using a different firewire 800 card (Lacie’s) and the drives have been behaving since.
