    We have

    BlackMagic Decklink HD PRO
    Multibridge
    FCP 5.1

    Project settings are
    Blackmagic HDTV 720p 23.98 8 bit (1280 x 720)

We have been monitoring video on our SD monitor through the multibridge.
Setting for video out is Blackmagic HD 59.94 HZ 8 Bit.

Now I want to make a Digibeta master. I tried to take the SDI out of the multibridge and send it to the Digibeta deck and I did not get a signal.

I changed the playback to NTSC 23.98 8 bit. Hooked the Digibeta deck up directly out of the card. Got a signal, but the video is the wrong size (although letterboxed now) and all of the titles look horrible.

I am stumped. What setting should I use out of FCP and how do I downconvert this?

I will someday understand HD!!! Agh!

    I got it to work.

Duh-I forgot that I had to turn the Downconversion on in the Decklink Control panel. I used the Software downconversion.

BUT- The graphics still do not look good. The picture is the right size though.

    Hmmm.

can you do it in hardware mode?

I’ve found the software downconvert not very good and pretty much useless for any production.

See that is my question as well.

The software downcovert looked okay as far as the picture, but the graphics looked like crap.

What is the work flow for this? Does anyone know?

Also, has anyone every up converted SDI to HD?

    Thanks!
