Working in DVCProHD. P2 23.98 Native material in a 720p setup. Everything in HD-land looks great. All exported and converted files look great on DVD and as QT/WMV/Flash.

Downconversion is SDI out to my DVW-500 DigiBeta, letting the Kona add the pulldown to the Anamorphic master.

What I’m noticing on the downconvert is that graphics, specifically lower 1/3 name keys, are looking as though they’re being slightly JPEG compressed, for lack of a better term. No real issues with the downconverted footage, but the graphics aren’t looking as good as they should.

Could a bad length of cable (or patch bay jack) cause this kind of issue? Something else?

    Quad core G5 2.5
    OS 10.4.10
    FCP 5.1.4

What color are your titles? Are they broadcast safe?
