    Hi,

I know that some of us know that FCP ships with the playback offset to 4 frames. Should this be the offset when working with the KONA 2. I am hoping that it is a zero offset but does anyone know what the Playback offset should be when working witht the KONA 2?

Please note I am talking about

    Sequence settings>Playback Control>Frame Offset

This defaults to 4 frames but with my other capture board should be set to 0.

    Thanks in Advance.

That might differ somewhat from machine to machine, but figure that if external audio and video is in sync, you leave it alone… right?

    Hi David-

This setting for Kona 2 (and Kona LS) should be “0”.

    Gerry,

I believe this feature was introduced in FCP to compensate for he lag in AV between the canvas and the output monitor. With other AJA products like the I/o this ca be set to as much as 7 frames to compensate for the differenc of what you are seeing in teh canvas and the broadcast monitor.

[David Battistella] “Sequence settings>Playback Control>Frame Offset”

Set it to 0 for Kona 2 use.
