  • Kona SD Legacy drivers?

    Hi,

I just funished wiping my boot drive for a clean and install of FCP 5.1. I also wiped out my Black Magic drivers for may Original Kona SD card. The Black Magic drivers my card came with is BM version 2.4, This version does not seam have 8 bit 2yuv. In the past I have downloaded updated drivers from the Black Magic site.

I have been hunting for the newer drivers on both Decklink’s site and the AJA’s site. I tried Decklink’s 5.5.1 download for FCP 5.1, but no dice, it wont see my card. I have also tried the Kona 2 Driver download, video works, but I can’t get audio in.

I understand that there comes a time when no new drivers will be written for a peice of hardware. Has this happened? I don’t see support on the AJA site for the SD card…I am hanging onto my old G4 dual 1.42 until the Intel’s are released, what would be a logical driver package for me to install?

    Thanks, Gregg

    Paul,

I downloaded the Kona 2 driver set. Included in the download is an utility called AJA KONA Conflict Checker, I ran it to uninstall any conflicting drivers including my Black Magic V.2.4 set. FCP now sees my card. The audio and video settings are a little different for the capture and timeline as well as output device. I don’t think this is the fix, but it will help me out on Monday until I have more time to trouble shoot.

    Good luck!

If anybody out there has a working solution, please let me know.

    Thank you,

    Gregg
