  • Kona SD and DeckLink 5.4 Drivers

Searchnig the forums, it appears that with a Dual 1.8 G5, Kona SD card, OSX 10.4.4, FCP 5.0.4, QuickTime 7.0.4, and the Decklink 5.4 drivers I should be a happy camper, yes?

Unfortunately FCP does not recognize my KonaSD (says the device is [Missing] in the Audio Video settings). I have tried reinstalling the Decklink drivers after using Uninstall Blackmagic DeckLink to remove anything that may be lurking.

Card was working before I made my major upgrade to Tiger, FVP5, etc.

I did run Disk Utility to repair my permissions.

Any helpful hints? From what I can tell this “just works” for everyone else (with one or 2 notes of needing to do a driver reinstall)

    Thanks!

It appears not to work for my Kona SD card as well, with the same symptoms you describe.

Desktop does appear on the monitor, but no option to output video; the Blackmagic Preferences are all grayed out as well.

Any Kona SD user have this working?

    Hi guys,

Please revert back to the last driver you had installed while we investigate this.

Thanks for looking into thie issue, Kristian.

Are previous versions of the driver available on Blackmagic’s site? And will those previous versions work with Tiger?

    Thanks!

More information for you. We’ve been running Kona 1s on a G5 2 gig and a G4 Dual 1.25 for a while now. (Waiting for the intel Macs with PCIe before we upgrade) All Blackmagic driver have worked perfectly. Until 5.4. When installing 5.4 you still get a line monitor out put but FCP won’t see it. Reverting back to 5.2.4 solves the problem. Though you must uninstall the 5.4 drivers first. Both of these systems are running Tiger 5.4.4 and FCP 5.04. We have been on Tiger for quite some time so it’s not related to that.

Yes, I too can cimfirm that if you install 5.4, do not uninstall 5.4, then Custom install 5.2.4 and select all items to install, it works… Both After Effects and FCP.
