August 17, 2005 at 10:44 pmAJA Io or even the Io LA if all you need is Analog. For analog sources, I prefer an external box which can move around the shop to whichever machine needs Analog at that time. It also plays nice with the Kona 2.
And for tech support, nobody beats AJA.

August 17, 2005 at 10:59 pmI agree with Walter, its really nice to have a Breakout Box to plug into instead of a bunch of cables hanging off your card. The Io or Io LA would be a really nice choice. Also, if you want to go with a card (some advantages), you should take a look at the AJA Kona LS with K-Box. With the Kona LS/K-Box combo you get a card and an analog breakout box. Of course, the advantage of the Io is its portability (as Walter mentioned) between systems, and its compatibility with the AJA Kona 2 HD card.
Even though I prefer the AJA products personally, if you go with the BlackMagic offerings you’ll do fine. Both companies have some very nice products. Do your research and decide which one has the features you need/want most. I suggest reading both AJA forums and the BlackMagic forum here on Cow to get some insights. Visits AJA and BlackMagic’s websites to learn even more.
Good Luck,
Tony!
