Anyone encountered weirdness in general after updating to 10.3.9 on their Kona LS or Kona 2 system ?

May 3, 2005 at 2:50 pm10.3.9 has been generally weird for some users, and I did have some Kona 2 issues. I do think, however, that the problem was a defective K Box because everything is just about back to normal after the replacement of the K Box. I am still having some embedded audio issues but I am not willing to blame that on 10.3.9– at least yet. Walter Biscardi will probably chime in here since he has stated in other posts that he wants nothing to do with 10.3.9. Personally, I cannot attribute any problems on my systems to 10.3.9. I can say that Tiger + Kona 2 + FCP HD is working fine based on a client whom I just configured– new 2.7 Mac plus Kona 2 plus XServe Raid. No problems there whatsoever (well, there was an XServe raid problem, but we traced that to a controller problem on the XServe raid, so not related either to Tiger or Kona 2). So, all I can say is that on both OS’s, the only problems I have experienced are not related to 10.3.9 or to Tiger.

Really have nothing to add except to say my system is running perfectly with 10.3.8 and since Tiger is already here, I’m not updating anything until I’m ready to move to Tiger. Too many deadlines, no time for downtime, so since it’s working, I ain’t fixing it. 🙂

May 4, 2005 at 9:15 amWe’ve seen issues with Medea RTR/RTRX drives. Kernal Panics, mounting issues. It’s quite ugly.
