KONA LS SDI Input not working
I’m trying to capture an SDI input in PAL. I’ve only got the SDI Input connected and although I get a signal coming through the scan rate/picture is jumping all over the place. You can view the settings I’m using at

Can I capture SDI with video only or do I need to connect up the audio as well?
Any help would be very much appreciated.

In your control panel CONTROL tab, try changing your Genlock setting from Video In to Free Run – does this lock up your image ?

Thanks for the quick response.
Tried that and doesn’t seem to work.

shut down (not restart) the MAC, and boot up again, and try again.
And why are you using the 2:2:2:4 pulldown ?Bob Zelin

Where is your feed from ?
Do you have another SDI source that you can try from ?
Does this also happen when you capture from FCP ?

Here’s a dumb probability: is there some sort of loop where your deck’s secondary output is being accidentally routed back to the same deck’s input? Are there any other signals being sent to the INPUT of your deck i.e. Composite/Component/SDI either through some odd patch connection or errantly normalized patchbay? If so, set the Input to an unconnected selection (it should blink if there is no signal). Is your deck in Ref or Input Video? It should be in Ref, and if it isn’t then there is some conflicting ref signal. You will get a revving sound from your DBeta if this is the case.
Try the ol’ Tiger Cache Cleaner [versiontracker], and Medium Clean all levels. Or Panther Cache Cleaner if you are on 10.3.9 or below.
