Kona LH vs. Io workflow question
We’re getting rid of our Cinewave cards and no we’re thinking of getting either an LH or an Io. It seems that LH is getting the more favourable responses on these forums, so we are leaning in that direction. The question I have is this: would we be better off getting the Io because we do a lot of off-lining on Powerbooks? I’m thinking in terms of codec compatibility here. I know that LH will work with a variety of codecs, but I assume that the card has to be present in order to read any of the Kona codecs. If we go with the Io, there is no card and the powerbooks and G5s will al be ableto play nicely together, correct? If we are going to move projects from G5 to powerbook and back again, there seems to be no use for the Kona codec (except if we want to do HD, which we won’t for awhile, just HDV). I just want to make sure I am not missing anything here so any help would be appreciated.
Thanks in Advance
Chris
