Coming from a Cinewave, the Kona LH is a breath of fresh air. (sounds like an ad, right?)

All is well so far… 2 days of reconfiguring and testing and I finally got the LH and iO ready for production. Overall, very impressive….but I do have ONE issue. The control panel doesn’t seem to reflect what I’m seeing. I have tried composite, component, and S-video connections on the KL-Box. While I can see an image on the screen, capture and output video, the control panel still says “No Video.” Is this a Control panel bug?

I tried reinstalling both iO and Kona software, but it does the same thing. It doesn’t seem to have an effect on the system…but it is a little unnerving to see the Control panel display “No Video” when video is clearly running through the system. Same with the iO box.

I am running a reference line to the Kona, and everything else seems to be ok.

    Any ideas?

Besides that, Kona is nice… glad to be on the “dark side.” 🙂
Multi-Format timeline and a bigger/better BOB (more I/O) would make me happier.

Thanks to all for answering my questions over the past few months.

I found the same issue on my LH, but whe we ran a signal to it and the “no video” went away, we had to turn bot the analog and hd decks on to run signals to all the conections. This is our third system to change over from Ciniwave to Kona. VERY impresed to say the least, we had our new LH card intergrated and editing in 1 day! Does anybody know were I can unload 3 ciniwave HD systems?????

Did you discuss that one with Tech support? As long as a video source is running through an input, you will see displayed what type of source it is. I.e. 720p/60 or whatever the source is.

Glad to hear I wasn’t the only one. Again, all is working…it’s just not being reflected in the Control Panel. I don’t have HD equipment here right now so I can’t test your “everything in” theory, but I’ll keep that workflow in mind.

As far as offloading your Cinewave…Ebay!!! Or find an old G4 and put it in there. It will still be a great log and capture or spare online setup if you need it. I plan on putting my Cinewave back in my G4 for that very application.

    Take care.

Thanks Walter, I’ll give tech support a call. That’s exactly the problem, it doesn’t display the input source…BUT it does display the output. That’s why I think it might be a bug, or something that may require a reinstall. The only input that changes is the reference which correctly displays 525i29.97 and “no video” when I disconnect the line. Weird… but its all working 🙂
BTW…I see the same behavior in the IO panel as well. Maybe related in some way?
