Hi. I just installed a new Kona LH card into a Dual 2ghz G5 with 8gigs of RAM and and an ATI 128MB gfx card running two 23 inch monitors. Latest FCP 5 and Latest OSX and quicktime updates.

The card seems to be working great, however I will walk away from the machine and come back to find it has crashed. The last time it happened, It would not restart and I had to unplug the machine for 20 minutes before it would start up again.

I ran the AJA conflict catcher before install. Nothing came up.

Any thoughts or help would be appreciated.

Sleep plays havoc with FCP running. Is that what’s going on? You can sleep the monitors, but you can’t sleep the drives very well it seems.

Jerry’s on to something. Go into your energy saver preferences and turn your processors to highest and tell your computer to never sleep and turn off screen savers too. The only thing I leave on is to sleep my monitors off after 2 hours, which rarely happens anyway.

Does it crash with a Kernal Panic or does it just lock up?
