KONA LH and Convergent Design

Has anybody tried LH with HD-connect LE, for HDV to HD convert.

February 2, 2006 at 12:07 amno one has to do this. The HDV VTR has analog HD outputs (Y Pb Pr), and this goes right into the analog component inputs of the Kona LHe, which will take in analog HD signals, as well as analog standard def component.

Yes, I tried the component out on my Z1, and,,, I think the video looks a liitle soft, and there was quite a bit of color shift. I also looked at the sony deck HVR-10MU, and it looks like it has same component cables as the Z1. I am not sure where the bottle neck in the system is. I like the idea of converting from firewire to Convergent Design HD-SDI, thereby keeping it all digital. But, like you said..$$$

February 3, 2006 at 7:15 amAnd don’t forget that the Convergent HD-Connect takes the timecode from the firewire stream and gives you a RS422 connection. Biggest reason to get this box…imo.
