No, there isn’t a Kona codec except the 2Vuy which is used for CineWave file playback. Kona uses the Apple codecs for capture / output.

It’s probably HDV, DVCPro HD or the Apple 8 or 10bit uncompressed codecs. Depending on which version of FCP you own, you may or may not have those codecs installed on your machine.

QT 7 movie info says that it is 1920×1080 10 bit uncompressed.

Unfortunatly I dont have FCP at home, but would be prepared to buy it tonight if it will solve the problem.

QT7 points me to a plug ins page at Apple. I can’t figure out which one would work.
Shame that you can output a file from FCP that QT7pro cant play.

Then you need the Apple 10bit Uncompressed Codec which is installed with FCP.

You can output a file that QT 7 can play, you just don’t have the proper codec. Don’t blame the application, you just don’t have the right codecs since you don’t own FCP.

Tell the editor to export an H.264 for you since that’s all it sounds like you need.
