    Hello
I have a job to export to a DVW-500P (PAL) from my Kona 3 using Downscaling from 1080i25 ProRes.
I have only SDI and RS422 cables connected to the DigiBeta as Kona 3 does not have timecode connectors.
Is there any way of recording my timeline to a blank tape on the DigiBeta with timeline timecode directly.
It appears that I have to lay down at least 15 secs of recording with the timecode set just prior to the Timeline starting timecode and then do an Assemble Edit to Tape at the point which coincides with the start of the Timeline.
Does it really have to be this complicated or am I missing something.

Yes, if you call that complicated. Assemble edit is the way to go with a Kona3/FCP. You can do this all from the comfort of your edit chair if you want by prestriping the tape with the black and code button.

    Hello Jeremy
Thank you for the quick reply. I have it working now.
It just seems messy to me and requires extra tape at the start before Bars and Tone commence.
    Thanks

Only enough for preroll, so 7 seconds of tape should do it, 10 to be sure.

It’s not that bad and the way it has been done without Avids forever.

The ioHD has an LTC out on it that you can use for a print to tape w/sequence tc if you need that functionality.
