Kona 3 Installation Problem
I just bought a new Mac Pro Dual 3.0 and have been trying to install the Kona 3 card. After I install the card in the computer and load up the software, there is a message in in the Kona control panel in red saying “Kona Board or Software Not Installed”. I tried another PCI slot, but get the same message. I don’t have deck hooked up yet, just the breakout box – is this the reason? Can’t figure it out. Thanks.

Be sure to go to http://www.aja.com and download the latest drivers from the website (v3.3) specifically for the Kona 3 (and not any other Kona board) and then read the directions about how to set up the PCIe slot configuration.
Set it up as AJA suggests and you should be good.
