Kona 3 HD Rendering Output Question
Hey Guys!
Just got a new Mac Dual 3 gig Quad Core Intel Mac and am running After Effects. I’m creating a simple bar wipe that takes about 50 frames to cross the screen at a diagonal angle. It’s in full 1920 x 1080 HD at 30 frames per second. I’ve tried rendering it several ways and nothing seems to work very well. Wondering if anyone has any suggestions? I have tried rendering it lower field first using the Apple FCP Uncompressed 10 bit as well as in frames with the same codec. Those don’t seem like the way to go. When I built stuff in SD in the past, I used the digital voodoo codec with lower field first and it worked perfectly. Anybody know what is best for HD coming out of AE 7 for output using FCP?

1080i/60 is Upper Field First.

Interested, thanks! Wonder if that will work for 1080i/30?”You mean 1080i/29.97? Yes, that’s upper field first too.
All you have to do is create a new Sequence in FCP, then go in and look at the Sequence Settings. It tells you the field order right there.
