KONA 3- FCP 5.0.4 PROBLEMS!!!
Hey Guys-
We just purchased a Kona 3 for our new Mac Pro for a 1080p23.98 show
we’re cutting. Unfortunately, we’ve been running FCP 5.0 and won’t
have our new version of 5.1 for another week. We need to load today
and were hoping to offline at DVCPRO HD 23.98 or DV NTSC 23.98, but
we can’t use the card until we upgrade FCP.We’ve rented the Sony JH-3 which offers us the possibility of loading
at DV NTSC 29.97 for our offline. This seems like our only option
right now. If we offline at DV NTSC 29.97, what steps will we need
to take to online at 1080p23.98? How do we go about converting our
29.97 sequence to 23.98 in FCP? Do we have to use Cinema Tools?Thanks.

If I am not mistaken, Media Manager in FCP should recapture your logs from one format to another (like 29.97 DV to 23.98 DVC PROHD) once you get your new card working. I am able to do that with FCP 5.0.4 on my Kona System.
