Kona 3 experts needed!
I have a macpro 8 core that came from promax with the kona3.
Everything was working great until recently while trying to prepare to burn blu-ray.Here are the changes I made:
1 Installed lg blu-ray burner
2 Upgraded firmare and drivers for kona3
3 Purchased toast 10 titanium and installed all additional softwareProblems that followed:
1 The sony optiarc dvd burner started seeing all discs as blank and will not burn
2 final cut developed a sound like an old lp record was playing but only out of one channel sdi or analog out using a sd timeline
3 Toast seemed to lock up if I had final cut open to which I could not force quit and had to hard cut the computer which made the sound of a needle being dragged across an lp record.
4 Sometimes windows on my larger monitor were garbled until I apple tabbed to another program and back.
5 Tried to launch compressor to which it said my graphics card did not support quartz extreme (had been working fine, I think this was after a pram reset)
6 Since then I have seen quartz supported on two dell 24″ which have an input from a matrox box that turns one dvi into two vga outs, but not supported on my 47″ with dvi in.(is working ok now)
7 playing back a quicktime rendered with animation codec from a pc, there were white speckles in the video. (played fine on another macpro)What I have done:
1 I reset pram
2 I re-installed the kona drivers
3 I deleted toast and all the programs that came with itI still hear the crackle when I hit the spacebar when playing video to pause but I think
it is gone but I haven’t tested enough to say for sure.
I am using ref in video but have an older horita.
I am planning on re-installing Toast but I am hesitant.
I have read on posts rolling back firmware helps some problems.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
