Kona 3 23.98 1080 to 29.97 1080?
Hey Folks
We have a show that we mastered in 23.98 ProRes 422 HQ codec. Now our client would like a 29.97 version for broadcast delivery. But that doesn’t seem to be a cross convert option with the Kona 3. Any thoughts on how we might proceed?

This is an easy one. Simply go to your View > Video Playback menu in FCP and change the output to 1080i29.97. Make sure the pulldown pattern in your Kona CP is set to 3:2

That was too easy, I’ve always been wary of FCP changing frame rates properly, so we never even tried that option.

This isn’t FCP doing the work, it’s the Kona. The pulldown is all done in hardware. Cool huh?
