For some reason i cant get my desktop to show up on my external monitor? on monday we had an editor in to work on a project and he had changed some setting to screw up my kona 2 output. It seems like the external monitor which is a sony standard def 9inch color monitor, is receiving a funky signal (possibly a 24p signal because the project the editor was working on was a 24p hi ef project). Before i had it set up that when i was not in final cut that my desktop would show up on the external monitor. Now the only time the signal is correct is when i go into final cut. I can kind of see my desktop on the external monitor but like i said the signal it is receiving is incorrect. any input would be much appreciated.

    System setup:

    Mac g5 dual 2ghz with 2.5gb memory
    running 10.4.6 operating system
    Final cut pro 5.0.4
Aja kona 2 card with the k-box
external monitor hooked up with composite y/c
external sata 2 raid with 2tb of space

the selection is in the Kona Control panel – I forgot where.

It’s easy to find – just poke around in the kona control panel.

Kona Control Panel > Control Tab.

I usually leave this set to black.

thanks for the replies..i figured out that the 2nd monitor output under system preferences was set to a frequency of 23.9 mhz, therefore sending a high def signal to a standard def monitor. I had to hook up the big sony hd monitor to get this figured out. Thanks though guys
