    Hi all

I am setting up my editing system and have KONA 2 with breakout box on order. (G5 dual 2Ghz, 6GB RAM, 1 TB RAID, FCP 5 and Tiger)

We will be producing a number of documentaries for the new local TV station (Al Jazeera in English). Technical standard for the delivery is 1080i/50 , HDCAM tape. Materials are shot using SONY HVR-Z1u, also on 1080i/50.

Can you please advise me what is the best workflow in this situation? Should we capture HDV via firewire or capture via component to AJA native format? From what I have heard, HDV might not edit that well because there will be many quick cuts.

Also, I can’t see 1080i/50 on the list of KONA2 supported formats at all? Which format should we use as alternative then?

Sorry to trouble you with might be layman questions, but after spending few days on related forums, I still can’t find the answers to these.

    Thank you
