  • Kona 2 – 1.2 driver – small vertical stretch on reverse-play

Can someone confirm or deny this for me – I’m getting a small vertical stretch of the image when I reverse-play a shot (J key – DV50 codec). On pause and forward-play the image pops back. It isn’t a big deal, but it’s a bothersome new anomaly with the 1.2 driver. (preferences already been trashed…)

Also I’ve found that I have to shift newly captured footage 2 pixels down to get it to exactly match previously captured footage (SDI HDCAM-SD)…

    Are you rendered?

It does it on all footage all the time (DV50 captured: rendered, RT or no effects), in the canvas or viewer – Even does it in Kona TV with DV50 captured footage. (This is happening on my video monitor not on my G5 monitor.)

Transcoded to uncompressed – doesn’t do it.

Interestingly, if I switch to 10-bit output the image just shifts up on reverse-play (no stretch), while on 8-bit output the bottom of the frame stays but the image stretches vertically the same amount. If I match the shift with the motion tab it appears to be about 6 pixels – 480 vs. 486 ?

I can confirm the stretch. I edit a show in DV50 (SDX900/24p) and when I reverse play, I see the stretch. Not a big deal, but you’re not alone.

Thanks, hopefully this will be addressed shortly with a driver update…
