    Hey all–

I have FCP version 6. I recently got the Kodak zi8 and love it. I can play the videos fine in quicktime on the computer, however when I pull them into FCP they’re jittery. These are 1080p films.

Am I setting my sequence settings wrong? Or how do I set them? I’ve never worked with HD outside of Sony XDCAMs.

Like many of these types of camera on the market, the camera file format is H264 which isn’t an edit codec. Like the Canon 5D etc the files have to be converted to an edit codec first. Care must be made with frame rates and audio sample rates.

Search this forum for Canon 5D as specific instruction on how to convert this footage has been covered many times.

I just received a bunch of these files and I cannot get smooth playback on any Mac.
I am in the process of converting to DVCPROHD to edit with some other footage in FCP but am not happy with the output from MpegStreamclip thus far.
Can you tell me your machine specs?
