Sorry if this is a newbie question but I cannot get it right not at all.
I don’t get the right results with the Knife tool.

Like you see in the picture I want just the line pointed by the green arrow, don’t need those 2 lines pointed with the red arrows. But everytime I make a cut 1 or 2 more lines(cuts) are created. How can I make a cut with just 1 line from one point to the other.
I 99% sure it’s about the Snap settings but I don’t know how to set it to obtain what I want.

So if you can help me I would much appreciate it.Thanks

I observe that on most objects it doesn’t work,it works just on Platonic object.
And also I observe that these adjacent lines are in fact other color, something like green.By the way I tried to cut with Point tool and in the Knife’s tool Line mode.
Those green lines,if I tried to select them with Live Selection tool and Edge tool I can’t.
So what these green lines are?

when you create an n-gon you are really creating poly that acts like one poly but is really more than one if the poly has more than 4 vertices. You must have “N-Gon Lines” checked off in the Viewport/Filter settings if you Configure one (or all) of the viewports and so you are seeing the hidden lines which make up the n-gon.
