    Hi Guys,
I need to look at plugging a variety of unsupported sources (VGA, CV, S-Video) into the KiPro. Without springing for the Barco, I have found a couple of scanconverters that look like they might work. The Hall Research SC-1080D seems to be a twin to the Altona AT-LINE-PRO2… the Altona is half the price! Neither of these brands are familiar to me – can anyone shed any light here? They both look to be US made “real” products (not Asian knock-offs) but are they the same under the hood?

    Charles.

It’s been a while, but I’ve used an Altona. It worked. Can’t comment on the difference between the two, though.

It seems that neither company admits to the other’s existence, but no matter. The Hall Research version seems to offer more output resolution options than the Atlona admits to, so for pure versatility I will probably go with them…
    Thanks,

    Charles

Makes sense. I’m sure they are both fine. Good luck!
