Kino Gel Questions
I’m going to do a shoot in a living room with windows that will be covered. There might be slight amounts of natural light coming through the windows. I will be using KINO lights.
1. Do I need blue gels or CTB for Flourescents lights? If so, do KINOS have barndoors for attaching the gels?
2. Do the same lighting principles that apply to incandescent such as Aris also apply to florescent? Example: the inverse square formula for changing lighting intensity.

Hi Stan,
You sound like you’re new to using Kino Flos, otherwise you would know that the design of their system includes both tungsten and daylight tubes. rather than gel the 3200’s to daylight, which would leave you with very little output, it’s highly recommended that you just relamp with daylight tubes.
As regards the physics of the light fall off, the Kino’s are exactly like any other softlight source. In addition you have control by either using the louvers to control the spill or removing them and gaining a little output and a wider spread.
