So far, we’ve been buying Arri and Mole fixtures with your usual small and medium chimeras/grids. I am ready to take a harder look at fluorescents.

We did buy a few Cool Lights a while back, and were very disapointed to say the least (sorry, I don’t usually like to take on a particular company but these things were casting horizontal shadows, and the mirrors attached were just casting random spot all over the place). And well, they did seem like they were about the fall apart at any time. Now this was the low end of the scale and obviously a mistake. So… I am now looking at the ParaBeam 200 for a slow start at about a grand each, they seem like a really good deal. I can’t seem to find anybody around our location that rents them, so my question is:

What am I getting out of these after the included diffuser is applied (The company quotes 1K ?) I know it is relative…
    .

They also mention that they are a little harder than their other fixtures, which I would welcome.

    Any info would be welcome.

    Thanks,

    Vince
