Ki-Pro record to external HD

Does anyonwe have any experience of connecting an external drive to a Ki-Pro for recording, (not recording on a Ki-Stor drive then copying)

Hello Paul

I know AJA would not advise this, it might even void the warranty.

I do also know that performance with off the shelf drives is very hot and miss. All AJA drives are tested for performance from 0-100% to ensure no dropped frames. Also the casing and drive connection is industrial and designed for continual insertion through the lifetime of the product.

If you are looking for faster data transfer than the FW800 on the KiStor drive maybe the KiStor Dock (USB3 & Thunderbolt) or KiStor USB 3.0 Hard Drive Storage Module might be of interest?:
