    I am using a keyspan USB to 9pin Serial adapter for deck control of a UVW-1800 Beta SP deck from my G5 mac running Avid Xpress Pro (4.8.4) and Mojo. I see picture using SVideo. I don’t have deck control. The Keyspan device has a model number of “USA-19Qi” witch is as I said a 9pin serial from USB, but the Keyspan website lists this model number as a USB to PDA adapter. I got it from a guy that uses it with his Media Compose Adrenaline. I have the deck config set to “Direct on KeySerial1——–Sony UVW-1800” Still no deck is seen. I am using a basic 9 pin cable from the Keyspan adapter to the deck. Any help would be great.

    you need the Addenda RS-USB4. It costs $68, and works perfectly.
    You have the wrong adaptor.
