Keys and Transitions
Okay, here is the issue:
I have a logo that is keyed on top of video track 1 with a luma key (doesn’t really matter what kind of key really). The question is…how do I add a page peel (or any other transition) so that it affects just the logo and not the entire screen? Each transition I throw on the end of the logo track wants to wipe the entire screen and not just the keyed element.
Is it possible to tell PP CS3 that I only want a portion (the keyed logo) of the screen to be affected during a wipe?Thank you,

Try the Page Curl in GPU Effects, not transitions. It is a bit more complicated than a transition but will peel just your logo.

For the peel effect, you need to peel off one shot and go to the next.
Use both shots on the same video track and apply the effect.If the luma and peel don’t work together, another solution would be to treat the luma keyed shot as a shot by exporting the luma keyed shot as a movie/avi and reimport it back to the project and timeline. To do this you must be sure that you wont want to change the luma again.
There’s no end to learning.

I’ve tried to run the situation you want and it works fine for me. I’m applying the BG layer on V track 1. Luma effected layer ontop (V2), then I’m adding the GPU Transitions “Page Curl or Page Roll” on the end of the clip on V2 with Luma effect. It works perfectly for me.
Am I doing something differently you have been?

I could duplicate Jeff’s experience. With a small logo in V2, the Page Peel peels the entire frame, not just the small logo.

I must be doing it differently or the logo file is the issue? I can’t seem to replicate the problem using normal footage with a luma key and a peel on the end of the V2 Luma Keyed clip. It wipes away not affecting the V1 tracks clip at all.
I wonder if a Nested Sequence with the logo in it would help?
