Keylight has version 2.2. How can I update it for After Effects?
Im curious to see if it still has the problem with noise.

The more I learn, the more I realise how little I know.

I think that the upgrade might only be for users purchasing the full package from The Foundry – I see nothing on their site about the included version in AE. However, noise should be no problem with Keylight, if you’re using it properly – here’s a good dialogue on the issue:

You cannot. See here for more information:

The noise issue can be avoided if you use the “Intermediate result” and not the final output.

Sorry to chime in late, but I just wanted to support what Tudor said.

Think of Keylight as being good for generating the matte, but don’t let it do the next steps (like its spill suppression).

The best techniques for using Keylight (or any keying effect) use a very tight garbage matte (such as generated with Auto-Trace or Roto Brush) as well as a complementary hold-out matte. Then the keying effect is only operating on the thin boundary along the edge between foreground and background.

Mark Christiansen describes this technique very well in his more recent editions of _After Effects Studio Techniques: Visual Effects and Compositing_.
