KeyLight 1.2 – Replace Method
Hi all,
I want to know how works the Replace Method option on KeyLight 1.2.
You could fine it on Keylight > Screen Matte > Replace Method:
and the options are None, Soft Colour, Hard Colour and Source Coulour.I used that on my works to have a soften color result putting it on Hard Colour.
The question is, how it works? What is happening on the image when I change between SOft>Hard or Source Colours?

What you’re doing is telling it how to replace the colour you picked as the screen colour within the area known as the “spill area”.
There is a boarder around the image +- a few pixels where it will operate. It’s going to replace the green or blue with whatever you have chosen as your desired colour. The blending mode is going to be either hard colour or soft colour depending on this setting.
The technical math behind it beats the pants off me but the short end of it is that you’re cycling two different blending modes to mix the colours to get a harder or softer result.
“Source” is basically saying to do nothing and leave it alone.

Thank you for your reply. My question could seems wierd, but that help me to understand the tool.
Anyway, I wasn’t thinking on that options like blending mode options. And now I see that my question have difficult explanations.
