    Hey everybody,

So I’ve got some footage that I need to key. The actor was wearing a green jumpsuit so it was shot with a red screen instead of the usual green or blue. What would be the best way to key this?

    Thanks,

    Just like any other key.

[Michael Szalapski] “Just like any other key.”

Michael, as usual, is right on.

I’d add the caveat that keying red may be just a little more work than green. Video cameras are more sensitive to green than they are to red, so your red background may be a bit noisier than you might otherwise expect — but all the same techniques will apply.

Check out Adobe’s Keying introduction and resources [link] for some great information, and some good links about Keylight.

It’s possible you could key the green suit and get a reverse key too. 🙂
