Hi, I have a rather poorly shot talking head interview. The location is naturally lit, static background (locked off Cam), is an unattractive office environment. Subject is in a swivel chair and moves about a bit. I need to key out the background and ideally the chair. I am using AE CS3, FCP 5, and have the entire CS production premium ste. My footage was shot on DVX 100B in 24pA. Help…please…..help!

    thanks, JV

    ps
tried using keylight ala the “super tight junk mattes” Tut, but…it keys out lots of stuff I need no matter how much tweaking I do.

Have you tried a difference key? Depending on whether or not your lighting is stable (not subject to variations), you might get a good key this way.

Otherwise, looks like a lot of rotoscope (manual) work.

Hi, thanks for the tip, I think i would need a clean plate of the background? If so, I am hosed, no shot of background sans thesubject. If not, what would be a general approach to using a diff. key?

    thanks again.
