  • Keying out ALL white from a video screen cap of Google

Posted by Evan Petkau on December 11, 2013 at 12:37 am

I’m trying to key out all of the white from a video capture of browsing on google. I’m using AE CS6. I’ve tried selectively adjusting the color to make it whiter followed by keying out the white, but always get heavy white borders around all my text. I’ve tried simple choker and luma key and neither are doing the trick.

I don’t believe it’s the way I’m capturing it since my high res screen PNG screen shots have the same amount of keying trouble as the video.

    Please help. Thanks

sometimes it takes layering of linear key to get what you want. chroma/hue/rgb used together.

i made a project a while back that fixes 8bit banding or if you’re just trying to key white out, which isn’t as easy as you’d think because white is never pure white.
