I am keying hdv video with fairly decent results. My problem is when I drop hdv into a sd comp the video get really soft. I have applied the sharpen filter which works ok, I would rather not if don’t have to. Any ideas as to why I would loose the image quality? What I am doing now looks worse than if I shot something in sd and keyed it. Would I get better results downconverting thru the our Kona 2 card and then keying?
    thanks

What size are you making the video. 50 percent? this number would be best for subpixel sampling.

I am scaling the video down to about 65 to 70%.

have you trid exporting the footage? I’m assuming you are working with 16:9 footage, so it might look squished in AE, making it look blurry, but after export it might look fine
