    Hey all,

Running into a bit of a problem here. Normally when I shoot DV I key using the Primatte keyer, however I’ve recently shot some footage in HDV 1080i/50 format… (I’ve imported using the AIC Codec, as I haven’t been able to get the tandard HDV codec in Final Cut or anything else working!).

In After Effects when I try to pull the key using the footage I get very very bad colour distortion. I’ve tried keying the footage with Keylight, and have no colour issue there… Anybody able to help me out or shed some light on this? I’ve also included links to two different screenshots, one with Primatte, the other with keylight

    With Primatte.

    With Keylight.

The other thing to note is that I know the subjects jumper clashes slightly, not really a problem… this particular shot is just a test.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Color supression…there should be an option to remove color supression….it is obviously on, turn it off.

    Hey,

Thanks for the reply… Just had a quick browse through the options and can’t seem to find that as an option anywhere? I’ve also done a quick google search and had a look at the software producers site to no avail! I’ve included another screenshot of the options the software gives if it’s any help to anyone!

Looking at your pic I would say check out “spill killer”. I don’t use Primatte but that sounds logically where it would be. Spill Suppression is a post-keying affect so if they make the plug-in along the same lines as the process of keying it would be near the bottom of the dialog.

    Hey,

Just been playing with it for a few hours, tried the spill killer (both turning it on and off), still no luck!
