Hello there, I have footage of a profusion of bats flying against a cloudy sky with patches of blue.I would like to extract them and superimpose them over a less complicated sky. Does anyone know a way of doing this in AE? The bats are quite dark against the sky, so hopefully it is possible. Jackie

See what kind of results you can get by tweaking the controls of a Luma Key.

Try multiple color keys/keylights. One for each color (the blue sky and the white clouds).

For things like this, I sometimes find it is easier to desaturate, then use levels controls to get a good mask, then use that as a luma track matte with either the original footage, or a black solid.
