Thinking about throwing down for the upgrade from 6.5 Standard to 7.0 Professional. One of the big things I’m wondering though is how the keying abilities stand up to other keying software packages. Being fairly green at all this (pun intended), I haven’t used any other keying software but logic would tell me that a dedicated software package is going to do a better job than AE. Then again, AE is awesome at so many things, maybe I shouldn’t assume? Any opinions the experienced keyers can share?

    thanks

ps-I know the jump from standard to professional will give me many other things…was just wondering about the keying because it may be a selling point with the boss.

With AE Pro, you get a plugin called Keylight, which is an excellent keyer. There are a few tutorials on the COW that discuss this plugin.
