Keyframing Title Properties
Posted by Marcelo Lewin on May 6, 2005 at 9:15 pmIs there a way to keyframe title properties (like kerning, spacing, color, etc)???
I would like to create a “stretching effect” within Premiere Pro of the letters while they fade out.
Thanks!

May 7, 2005 at 2:28 amThat is done in After Effects. The titler in Premiere Pro is not keyframable. Unless you want to make a bunch of titles and deal with it that way. Manually.

May 7, 2005 at 4:21 pmOh. That’s too bad. I have After Effects, but I just don’t want to switch back and forth when it is a simple animation I want done. Do you think the next version they will allow keyframing of text properties?? I used Sony Vegas 5 before and all the properties in the Titler (although their titler sucked) were keyframeable.
Cheers!

May 7, 2005 at 5:42 pmI don’t understand the problem people have with using After Effects to create complicated animations and then use them in Premiere Pro. The titler is OK, but the text animation presets in After Effects 6.5 are so superior to anything else out there, I just don’t get it.
I guess it would be nice to have a full featured titler, but I think I would rather have Adobe work on integrating After Effects and Premiere Pro and Audition and Encore and Photoshop all together so that instead of a titler window, we would get a subset of After Effects opening in the Premiere Pro environment. Instead of a title, we would get a composition. And it we went to edit a graphic, we would get the standard Photoshop tools.
We need the separate apps for the more complicated issues, but why not have modules that couled be called from one program to another. Object Oriented and the same from app to app because they are the same objects, not just similar.

May 7, 2005 at 10:42 pmWell, it’s not really a problem. It’s just inconvenient to work with. If I could create it in After Effects and just import the project into Premiere Pro, then that would be fine. But if I have to rended it out and then import it. That’s a pain. I agree that better interoperation between the apps would be great!
