    Hey, guys!

Hoping you can help me out. I’ve looked up and down these Sony Vegas forums, and I’ve gotten hints here and there as to the answer I’m looking for, but no straight up answer that I need.

I’m working on a project with split screens. I’ve figured out how to use separate tracks to get the desired effect, and I’ve tried using keyframes to manipulate within the tracks, but it has become a pain in the butt, and I would rather not have to deal with the detail work with keyframing (it confuses me to no end).

I would much prefer to be able to have more tracks (i.e. text, track, video overlay track, video track, and an extras) however, I’m working with Sony Vegas Movie Studio, and they only allow four video/ text tracks to work with. When I right click on the track list, the “Insert video track” is grayed out because I’ve apparently opened as many as they’ll let me have.

With that said, here are my questions:

Does anyone know how I can add on more tracks that I haven’t figured out?

Is there an easier way to use the keyframes to get my desired effect?

And if not, would it be better for me to work with the video piece by piece, creating the split screen effect for each portion of the video, and then rendering these different pieces into separate videos themselves, and putting all of these smaller rendered videos together in a final product?

Please let me know of your advice! I will greatly appreciate it!!

    Suz
