keyframes in FCExpress
I presently use Vegas for editing. My wife, a photographer, used my computer to setup her photos as a very cool slide show in Vegas using a good deal of intricate keyframing.
She would like to do this work on her G5 and we where thinking about getting FCExpress however I did read that the keyframe ability was crippled in Express. Is that true and, if so, to what extent.
The added advantage to her having Express is that I would get a taste of FC.

Crippled would be an exaggeration. You can’t see the keyframes, but you can make keyframes and animate images on the screen. I’m not sure what you mean by a complex animation, but I would want to do a complex motion control animation in either Final Cut Express or Final Cut Pro. You can so simple animations in both. It’s easier and you have more control in FCP.
