I find it a struggle to adjust keyframes in a 3D PIP effect on MC5 – when I add the effect to a video clip there are not even the default start/end KF’s – I have read and researched to find no answers. Any help appreciated. Working on PC – XP Pro.

In the new AVX 2 Advanced keyframe model, regular keyframes don’t show up automatically and start and end of shot anymore. You have to manually create them. Trust me, I’ve bitched a lot to no avail. You are supposed to use the advanced keyframes. More like FCP, less like what I’m used to.

Thank you – I was afraid it was something like that. Sometimes the job requires a sprinkler not a fire hose …. it wasn’t broke so why did they fix it? Thanks again.

This is my main dislike of a fantastic new build. My workaround for new effects has been to ‘Show Keyframe Graphs’, hit Home, right-click in the gray area at the top and choose ‘Add Keyframe’. Then hit End, and do the same. This will add KF’s to all parameters.

Want to get frustrated? Open an old project with a simple 3D effect and some parameters don’t even have control – you see a KF, but it doesn’t affect that parameter.

Oh well, Old Dog, New Tricks.
