Keyframes anchored to beginning of clip?
I’ve searched this forum for my specific problem and haven’t been able to find it on here. I have many projects where there are multiple timeline clips with event panning/cropping and some masking too, so basically a bunch of keyframes in each clip (which are usually part of some long-running raw footage so I have ample pre-roll/post-roll).
I find that I run into major trouble when I try to adjust the beginning of any given clip. The keyframes seem to be anchored to where ever a clip begins, meaning if I drag the beginning of a clip back in time a few seconds all the keyframes get dragged back with it -completely throwing everything off by however many seconds I drag it. Many of the pans are specific so its crucial that they stick to the exact frames I specify. Adjusting the end of a clip doesn’t seem to affect the keyframes at all. Anyone run into this problem? Any workarounds?
P.S. Track motion is not a reasonable option in my case as there are so many clip-specific camera moves & masking that it’d be a mess vs event pan/crop.

In the settings for the auto ripple, you can choose how the markers will behave when you edit the events (e.g. whether the markers will also move or not).

Maybe I should better describe my issue. Below is a screenshot with the clip I want to adjust and its keyframes.
The clip itself is synced to music. The keyframes are for panning and cropping and correlate to avoid borders of our greenscreen as well as the motion set to music. *Note the second keyframe is 2 seconds into the clip.
Notice all that’s happened is I dragged the clip beginning left, making it longer and thus making it start earlier. There is now a gap after the last keyframe even though the end of the clip has not changed. *Note the second keyframe is two seconds away from the start of the clip, which now happens earlier than in the first example, in other words the keyframes are not synced to the overall timeline anymore. They are early by as much as I drag the clip beginning left.
I dragged the beginning of the clip to the right this time and notice all the keyframes are still the same distance from the beginning of the clip. *2nd keyframe 2 seconds into the clip.I couldn’t get the desired result with any combination of options in auto-ripple. It always throws other clips out of sync in one way or another and the keyframes are still off.

If all you want to do is add 1 or 2 sec. at the beginning of the clip, here’s what I would do.
Double-click the clip to highlight it, right-click and open it in the trimmer.
It will be zoomed in to the highlighted section.
Drop a marker at the beginning of the section.
Now zoom out a bit and drop another marker 1 or 2 sec. earlier.
Double-click this new section to highlight it, right-click it, drag it down to the timeline and add it as desired.
Because you used a marker at the beginning of the original clip, everything will be perfectly synced up.
Keyframe the new clip if desired.
