Ok I have limited experience with AE but I used to use 5.5 a lot. I’m using 6.5 now and I simply can’t remember what must be done to make an object gradually move from one position to another. I understand how to use simple keyframes and to make something like a simple solid move acroos the screen, but is it keyframe interpolation that makes it speed gradually and slow gradually? Any help would be appreciated!

Yes. The keyframe interpolation methods for acceleration and deceleration are called EASY EASE. You EASE IN to slow down, EASE OUT to speed up, and EASY EASE to do both (middle keyframes).

Select the keyframes and choose the appropriate method from the Keyframe Assistant in the Animation menu. You can also right-click on the keyframe to access the shortcut menu.

I think there should be an arrow to the left of the keyframed property. Click on that to open it up, and it’ll give you a graph that you can play with to adjust the speed.
