  • Keyframe De-saturate Adjustment Layer?

Posted by Perrywaz on July 3, 2006 at 6:00 am

    Hey there,

I have an Adjustment Layer that I’m using to de-saturate some footage. I see the “Master Saturation” controls, but is there a way to keyframe the de-saturate?

    Thanks

Yes, you can set keyframes for the master control. Read the manual, it’ll tell you how.

You could also just keyframe the opacity of your adjustment layer.
I, personally, prefer using Channel Mixer to desaturate footage. You can achieve a custom black and white mix when you click monochrome.

for a Hue/Saturation plug-in that is a bit more logical in what and how you can keyframe, try “Color Balance (HLS)”
It lacks selective desaturation though. (eg. desaturate the reds only)
