Why is my Keyframe Button not available in the Text Window?
If I lay down Keyframes they do work, but I can

I should clarify! If I add an FX the Keyframe works. But if I try to work with the Text Properties (Tracking/Scaling/Color) then the Keyframe button if off!!

Do you mean the “Sync Cursor” button? If yes, that doesn’t work on generated media. Otherwise, what do you mean by the “keyframe button”?

The best way to change color over time would be to use the text as a mask and put the changing color on a track below it. To change sizes, make the text the LARGEST you want it to be and use Pan/Crop to reduce its size as needed.

Just for the record, the (or at least my) generated media box, when working with text, has a key-framer at the bottom. I can change text size, color and font during the duration of the text event. Font size etc changes are instant from one key-frame to the next (it jumps from 72 to 16 on the key frame) but color changes are gradual.

Yes, all generated media has a timeline along the bottom allowing the creation of keyframes. He was actually talking about the “Sync Media” button which is grayed out on all generated media.
