  • Keyboard shortcuts for captioning?

Posted by Rikki Blow on May 7, 2022 at 3:01 pm

I’m trying to speed up my captioning (.srt) workflow, and wanted to make a keyboard shortcut for ‘Got To Next Caption’, which at the moment only seems to be a mouse-clickable arrow when a caption box is open.

Anyone know a way to create this?

(I’m holding onto Mojave as long as I can, so looking for this on FCPX 10.4.10)

Also, in general, I was having a search around in the ‘Customising Commands’ box, and I’m frustrated by the fact that the keyboard shown is a full size USB keyboard – so many of the keys aren’t available on a MacBook Pro. Is there a way to change the shown/default keyboard to laptop size, for searching and defining shortcuts?

(the first thing to note is that it would be VERY smart of you to clone

a perfect working system of Mojave and FCPX.)

As for the shortcuts – I don’t really know how to make them without asking google.
